About Us
On October 18, 1995, André Sachet signed a "zazen group-leader letter of engagement" with Roland Rech. In October 1995, the group was set up in the Chateaux Brûloirs Dojo. Juliette Morel led the zazens until October 1996. André Sachet was ordained a monk on July 14 1996.
Alain Poret came in 1997 to share the responsibility, and helped run the zazens. Anne Chavellier also led zazen, starting in 2002. In May 1998, the Cergy Zen Group declared itself a nonprofit association (French law 1901) under the name "Association Zen Internationale - Dojo de Cergy." This organization allows us to participate in the local network of associations, to inform, to be informed, to have a bank account, etc...
The association is a member of the French Buddhist Union.
Since November 2004, when André Sachet left the area, the zazens have been led by Alain Poret.
